Our Team

Chief Derrek Kaff began his career in law enforcement with the Los Angeles Police Department in 1996.  In 2000 he moved and became an officer with the Woodland Police Department.  Derrek has had assignments as a member of the SWAT Team, Range Safety Officer, Bike Patrol Team, Field Training Officer and the Professional Standards Unit.  He graduated from the FBI National Academy in 2019 and is a member of the International Chiefs of Police Transnational Crime Committee. Derrek was promoted to Deputy Chief in 2016 where he oversaw the day to day operations of the entire department. In July 2019, Derrek served as the interim Chief of Police and was promoted to Chief of Police in October 2019.
